September 21, 2006 ColdFusion Powered Flex Ben Forta
September 28, 2006 Advanced ColdFusion Development Techniques Simon Horwith January 27, 2014 Basic introduction to "Advanced" techniques, including CFScript, CFCs, Custom Tags, XML. There is an annoying hum throughout, but you can still hear the presentation. The presenter gives a good overview of how to use CFScript and pointed out a few Custom Tag tricks that I was not aware of. 3 stars
December 13, 2006 Ajax for ColdFusion Developers Rob Gonda February 4, 2014 Continue watching from 16:00 - 2.5 hours total - More Info: http://coldfusion-archive.robgonda.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/12/13/25h-Ajax-Presentation-Marathon/index.html
February 1, 2006 Seefusion Daryl Bantarri  Looks pretty good--especially for monitoring/killing slow running queries. Current pricing is free for 2-hour evaluation/developer version (if you restart CF server you get 2 more hours), $199/instance for regular or $299/instance for enterprise. Presentation also features a brief introduction to using MS SQL Server Query Analyzer. Latest version of SeeFusion available at: http://www.seefusion.com/ 4 stars
April 27, 2007 CFMeetup: Attack of the Spam Bots Jacob Munson January 9, 2014 Makes some good points on ways to prevent spam submissions on your website. Best tip was to include hidden fields in your forms that look like they should be filled in (and which persist submitted data), but which you actually check to make sure they are empty. 3 stars
May 24, 2006 How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Model-Glue Ray Camden January 14, 2014 Model-Glue looks surprisingly simple to use. Will have to investigate latest version (3.1 or 3.2) and try using it. Model-Glue Framework at: http://www.model-glue.com/coldfusion.cfm Also look into Canvas, a ColdFusion wiki by Ray Camden - http://canvas.riaforge.org/ PRESENTATION FOLLOWUP: CanvasWiki is proving easy to set up, easy to modify, and very useful as a private wiki. CanvasConfig.xml was missing, but I was able to download this file from the live CanvasWiki example site. Though it seems that the settings in this file are ignored in favor of the ColdSpring.xml file settings. I am probably missing something here--but otherwise the wiki seems to work well. 4 stars
April 26, 2007 CFMeetup: DataMgr Component Set: Easy Data Access without an ORM Steve Bryant January 13, 2014 The DataMgr component set provides an excellent way to manage simple CRUD operations. Particularly useful is the "Simulated" option, which allows you to use simulated queries during rapid prototyping, and then easily switch to an actual datasource--creating the tables/seed data that you developed during simulation. The presentation was for 2.0 or 2.1, the most recent version of DataMgr is 2.5 and is available here: http://datamgr.riaforge.org 3 stars
July 1, 2006 Intro to Reactor John Blayter January 20, 2014 This appears to be a very straightforward ORM with reasonably good documentation. The presenter, however, doesn't repeat the audience questions which are inaudible. The presenter also assumes you have familiarity with cf_terraform. 1 star
February 16, 2006 Remoting w/ Flash,Flex,ColdFusion Roberto C. Frias January 21, 2014 Very helpful introduction to Remoting with Flash. However, I'm not sure how useful this still is now that HTML5 is on the scene. 3 stars
